The book’s cover describes this as a beach read, and it truly is! The Summer of Starting Over was an easy and lighthearted listen. Callie and Jesse’s story is so sweet and is the perfect example of when your first love ends up being your true love after all.
As much as this story is about the reuniting between Jesse and Callie, it’s also about Callie coming back home into herself in her hometown, Big Dune Island. With so much change and upheaval in Callie’s life, it was so nice to see her find comfort in the places she grew up loving- especially her childhood home.
With a beautiful setting and great cast of characters, this story is meant to be read somewhere nice and sunny- preferably with water nearby! It is a great read (and listen!) for anyone looking for an easy and enjoyable story with light touches of romance!
