ARC Review: One Good Puck by Sarah Smith

Publication Date: September 8, 2025

As always, Sarah Smith’s hockey romances just hit different! Having seen Coach Porter for the entire Denver Bashers series so far, it was so fun to see him fall in love. Gavin and Abby were so adorable in their journey to realize their feelings for each other. The forced proximity made everything soooo good, and I laughed out loud a few times at how frustrated they each were getting over it!!

There was something so compelling about how both Gavin and Abby are single parents. They instinctively relate to one another so effortlessly. The relationship they both have with Abby’s daughter Emma is so precious. Even with their age gap, this shared life experience really unites them and helps bring Gavin and Abby closer together.

I love so much how many of the characters from this series are regulars in One Good Puck! After ARC reading Fake as Puck a while ago, it’s been amazing to see Sarah fill out the rest of the characters and the world. Gavin and Abby are such a lovely addition to the Bashers crowd, and I really am loving this series so much!

I voluntarily reviewed a free advance copy of this book provided by the author. The opinions expressed are my own.
