There’s nothing like a Lyra Parish holiday story to get me in the holiday spirits! A Very Merry Enemy is the second chance romance + enemies to lovers story we all needed. Lucas and Holiday’s shift from the kids they were to the adults they are now was so beautiful, and totally embodied everything I love about a second chance story!
If you love the enemies to lovers trope, this book is made for you. There is so much resentment between these characters at the onset of the story- especially from Lucas- and it truly takes time for him to soften towards Holiday. There’s so much pining and longing and hatred and loss from the past all combined into the perfect holiday bundle.
This is the last book in Lyra’s Very Merry series set in Merryville. I loved the cozy small town vibes as well as the romantic arcs for all the Jolly siblings. Lucas and Holiday’s story was a total treat to read, and it’s a perfect holiday read for this fall weather!
I voluntarily reviewed a free advance copy of this book provided by the author. The opinions expressed are my own.
