This book is the romantasy genre at its best: the perfect combination of delicious romance and the building of a fantasy world & imminent conflict to keep you invested. Something Wicked told the love story between Cate and Callie all while weaving in a compelling plot about uprisings and a world in political turmoil.
I would have kept reading for either individual plot, but they both worked so well. Falon, as always, nails the spice element of this story. Cate’s background as a courtesan and Callum’s background as a prince come up from start to finish, and these histories are certainly a huge part of what makes each character who they are.
I don’t get to read a lot of romantasy or fantasy as a whole, so reading Something Wicked was a real treat. I’m deeply invested in both plot lines and am DYING for the next book. I need more of this world ASAP and am so happy I got to read and enjoy this book so much.
