ARC Review: Free Falling by Jill Shalvis

Publication Date: February 3, 2026

I don’t know what, exactly, Jill Shalvis puts into these books, but I need about a thousand more! Free Falling was such an incredible read and wonderful addition to the Colburn brothers collection. Caleb and Emma’s rivals to lovers arc was everything. The chemistry completely leapt off the page, and I could not put it down.

From the moment that Caleb and Emma are reintroduced to each other, it was clear that their tension and chemistry was sizzling. Both Caleb and Emma had things to work through in order to be comfortable in a romantic relationship, and I appreciated the fact they didn’t rush a single moment. The dual POVs gave such insight into how they both were feeling- even when they weren’t ready to share that with the other.

I got to read He Falls First when that book came out last year, and ever since, I’ve been so excited for this book. Free Falling was everything I wanted and more! Jill sets up such an incredible story for the third book of this series- Falling Into You– and I cannot WAIT to read Tucker and Hazel’s story next!

I voluntarily reviewed a free advance copy of this book provided by the author. The opinions expressed are my own.
