The Taste of Deceit had me hooked from the very first page to the last one. The relationship that plays out between Astrid and Geraint is full of dark romance mixed with a sense of fierce protectiveness and loyalty. Their world is clearly flushed out and complex, immediately setting me in modern day England with the complicated situations that arise in the aristocracy. I loved the tinge of political tension that was woven into the story and increasing the stakes for these characters!
Geraint is such a dreamy British Lord, with the swagger and just enough arrogance to make him enticing rather than obnoxious. I love how Astrid has her own power and voice in the story as well, and how she makes her own path rather than just allowing Geraint and his complicated familial dynamic to interfere. They are compelling in different ways, but make a pair worth continuing to follow.
I am more than excited to read the sequel, The Feel of Possession, which releases on the same day. Astrid and Geraint’s story continues there, and the spice and tension that surrounds them throughout this book is certain to be in that as well. Since I’m ARC reading for that book too… stay tuned for my review of The Feel of Possession!

ARC Review: Enter the Villa by Anna Peele
Publication Date: May 19, 2026 As a longtime Love Island fan, Enter the Villa was fascinating. Hearing from production about the stereotypes of various characters on the show, how the show morphed over time, and how the show became the mega popular force it is today was incredibly interesting. It truly was a look behind…
