THE PINING IN THIS BOOK!!!! Oh my god. This was the epitome of a slow burn. Jonah’s longing absolutely wrecked me. Agh, this book was so so good. Sadie and Jonah’s love story in An Academic Affair had me kicking and screaming, just waiting for the moment they FINALLY realized their true feelings.
The setting of academia in this book really set the stage for Sadie and Jonah. I loved how they were childhood rivals, college rivals, and then workplace rivals!!! I just know these two would be hilarious to have dinner with. Even with the love they ultimately feel for each other, the banter will never cease, which is amazing.
This book was an absolute 10/10. It’s one of my favorite reads of late and I need everyone I know to read it when it comes out, because DUH. Jodi McAlister delivered an absolute gem of a book and I’m more than ready for more of her writing!
