Duffy and Connor were such a delight! First and Forever is the football player love story that fans dream about having themselves. Connor is just dreamy, and I loved how he and Duffy immediately had great banter together. No relationship is perfect, of course, but seeing theirs develop into something meaningful was amazing.
I loved the dynamics with Duffy’s dad, Tony. Duffy’s commitment to showing up for her family is huge, and the love she has for her dad runs so strongly through this book. Connor’s efforts to impress Tony as well as befriend him are also a tender part of this book, and something I loved so much.
First and Forever is proof of two things. One: if Lynn Painter writes it, I will read it. And two: the fake dating trope will never fail to hit. Connor and Duffy’s story was easy to read, wholesome, and hilarious at all the right moments, and I am definitely adding this to my sports romance recommendations!
Thank you to Berkley Publishing Group for the opportunity to read and review this book! I received a free advance copy of this book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions expressed are my own.

ARC Review: The Best Player by Jaqueline Snowe
Publication Date: May 7, 2026 I love a forbidden romance, and The Best Player absolutely nailed it. Kenzie and Tanner’s chemistry was off the charts, even when they were trying to hide it. The two of them, in the same house as her brother? Absolute chef’s kiss. Kenzie and Tanner are both on individual journeys…
