Scored On was such a fun read with a good old enemies-to-lover plot line and a continually growing team dynamic in the Connecticut Commodores. The dual POVs gave such a great variety of perspective in the different dynamics that Stella and Ethan experienced throughout the book, and I loved getting to know them both as individuals as they grow as a partnership.
While Scored On begins with Ethan working on his image, it ends up being far more than just an image change and is instead growth that helps his entire life. I love how Stella has these dueling images of a dominant, in-control woman on one end and on the other, a girl who is spending her life trying to appease not only her parents but the other authority figures around her. Their relationship helps them both to grow, and that’s something I find so beautiful in romance books.
I am such a hockey and sports lover, and getting to read this in the midst of the Stanley Cup finals was the absolute perfect timing. I’m excited to read more about the Connecticut Commodores and to see their journey continue to grow on and off the rink!
I received a free advance copy of this book via Booksprout and am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
