Allie Lasky’s latest book Power Play was such an amazing hockey romance! From the most unexpected meeting between Al and Riley to their journey into parenthood, there was not a dull moment in this story. I loved every minute of it, but especially everytime Emmy popped up!!
Al’s role as Emmy’s dad is truly adorable. He steps into that position so easily, and it’s clear from the very first moment how much he loves her. I sure can’t blame Riley for swooning watching him with Emmy! The family dynamic in this story truly is so touching and beautiful.
There’s always so much found family in Allie’s books, and this is no exception. It was so meaningful to see Riley find her community in Boston, as well as an identity outside of being Emmy’s caretaker. This book touches on some real life issues and it’s so important to see representation of them in books like this one!!
I voluntarily reviewed a free advance copy of this book provided by the author. The opinions expressed are my own.

ARC Review: Enter the Villa by Anna Peele
Publication Date: May 19, 2026 As a longtime Love Island fan, Enter the Villa was fascinating. Hearing from production about the stereotypes of various characters on the show, how the show morphed over time, and how the show became the mega popular force it is today was incredibly interesting. It truly was a look behind…
