ARC Review: Summer People by Sally Blakely

Publication Date: July 7, 2026

Summer People perfectly combined nostalgia for friendships past with the slow burn romance between Sutton and Everett. The dual timelines did a beautiful job of moving the story along and heightening the emotional impact. Getting to see the extra time that Sutton and Everett spend together every year is one of my favorite things about this book!

Summer People is so full of found family that my heart could burst. The relationships between Sutton and her friend group were so real and so powerful. I loved how this book showed those relationships over time as well as the ever-shifting dynamic between her and Everett.

Sutton and Everett’s love story brought me all the feels combined with a story that felt impossible to put down. These two were meant to be a love story far beyond the stolen moments that they started out with, and I loved seeing them become that for each other. Summer People is the perfect read for either being on a vacation or trying to escape to one!

Thank you to Harlequin Trade Publishing and MIRA for the opportunity to read and review this book! I received a free advance copy of this book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
