ARC Review: Just a Highland Fling by Naina Kumar

Publication Date: July 21, 2026

After meeting Naina Kumar last year at a book signing, I fell completely in love with her books. When I saw that Just a Highland Fling was available, I was SO excited! The love story between Neelu and Jacob is everything. This story is tender and warm in all the right places, with intense chemistry but also deep emotions as well.

There’s so much in this book about family, second chances, and being brave even while scared. Neelu’s journey through Scotland felt like so much more than just a road trip. I wanted Neelu and Jacob to end up together (duh!) but I also wanted Neelu to find peace and reconciliation with her father. She’s such a real character that it’s hard to imagine her not existing right in front of me!

This story was amazing, and I was completely along for the ride. Just a Highland Fling felt like such a real and honest love story, and I loved that so much. If you haven’t read a Naina Kumar book- and you should- this is definitely one to pick up!!!

Thank you to Ballantine and Dell for the opportunity to read and review this book! I received a free advance copy of this book via NetGalley and am voluntarily leaving a review. All opinions expressed are my own.
