A Study in Sparkling was one of my most anticipated reads of the year, so when it popped up in my inbox, it instantly jumped to the top of my reading list. Their romance is based on friendship, and support, and love that comes from a deeply rooted place. Fiona and Satoshi’s dynamic is beautiful and heartfelt, and trying to put my love for them into words is not easy!
Fiona is going through a lot in this book, and the support that her friendship with Satoshi provides is incredible. I especially loved how Satoshi showed up for Fiona’s kid, Lex, and provided a safe space for them to be themselves with no judgement. Fiona is undeniably an incredible mother, but seeing Satoshi’s quiet moments of growing close with Fiona’s kids throughout the story was really moving.
A Study in Sparkling was everything I could have ever wanted and then even more. Jodi McAlister wrote another brilliantly beautiful love story that I could not put down. Fiona and Satoshi have my whole heart, and this book is definitely one of my top reads of 2026!
